Overwhelmed. That’s how I felt when I learned that I was pregnant with twins. It would be different than my first two pregnancies. Since I was eating for three I needed more calories, but sadly I was eating all the wrong stuff and gained 50 pounds. Five months after giving birth I still looked pregnant and was very discouraged. I never wanted to blame my weight and insecurities on having babies, so I set out to get back to my pre-baby weight. Since my husband has had great success with P90X and P90X2 he encouraged me to take a break from cardio-based programs and give strength training a try.

X2 was great! I loved the variety of workouts and the new equipment (the medicine ball and stability ball). I also began to love yoga and really looked forward to those days. But my greatest challenge wasn’t getting up every day and pushing play, it was my nutrition. I wasn’t sure I could eat well enough to get the results I wanted so I decided to give Shakeology a try. And to my surprise, I ended up LOVING IT!

Shakeology took the guesswork out of my breakfast, and by starting off on the right foot every morning I was motivated to make healthier choices the rest of the day. For 90 days, my wonderful husband (who’s also my Beachbody Coach) brought me breakfast in bed—which, of course, was a delicious glass of Shakeology! Shakeology truly was the gamer changer in my results. I hadn’t worked any harder while doing P90X2 than my previous programs, but I believe that one shake a day helped me get the results I was looking for.

The other game changer for me was my Challenge Group. This was a wonderful way for me to stay focused, motivated, and keep pushing play…every single day! Everyone in my group was very encouraging and I got to form new friendships with people who share my interests. Plus, I was lucky enough to have a friend from high school in my group who was also doing P90X2. It helped to hear how her workouts were going and we talked a lot about the routines and which ones were easy or hard for us. It truly was a great way to help keep each other accountable. But my biggest cheerleader was my husband. He has always been my biggest motivator and I couldn’t have had the success I did without his amazing support. Thanks honey!

Since beginning my journey, I’ve lost 14 lbs. I can finally see my abs and I fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans! Today I feel stronger and I am proud to say that I’m in the best shape since high school. Plus I love the fact that my husband and I are setting a good example for our kids. Our family is now eating so much healthier and we often hear our older kids reading products labels and telling us how much protein is the product! How awesome is that?
